Requiem For Detriot

Did anyone see this? On BBC2 on Saturday 13th March - a documentary about the city of Detroit by filmmaker Julien Temple

Detroit was known as the worlds centre for Ford car manufacture and an important source of popular music, its nicknames were, Motor City and Motown. In 1950, the city was the fourth-largest in the USA.

Now Detroit is crumbling and the city is a ghost town, you can buy a house for $10. Why is it becoming a magnet for artists and what has happened to the people who have chosen to stay? Is this the future city?

Unmissable. Download here.
